Patrician homes in Florence in the 14th and 15th Centuries

A tour of civil architecture with aperitivo on one of the most beautiful terraces of the city

Tour overview

The great Florentine architects of the Renaissance were employed to satisfy the aspirations and tastes of the city’s most affluent residents who were eager to insure the immortality of their families through imposing and elegant residences.

Giuliano da Sangallo, the favorite of Lorenzo the Magnificent, along with his brother Antonio the Elder; his nephew, Antonio the Younger; and his son, Francesco; were architects, engineers and sculptors that Giorgio Vasari did not hesitate to define as the cult of San Gallo for the dozens of prestigious commisions they executed not only in Florence, but over half of Italy. Other such masters include the Maiano brothers, Simone del Pollaiolo, Baccio d’Agnolo, and many others.

This tour highlights authentic architectural and decorative pearls of the city and comprises impressive civic buildings and many other structures that are essentially overlooked by the majority of visitors in Florence and includes exclusive entrance to a residence not normally accessible to the public.
